WHAT.
(Incoming unpopular opinion…)
That was the worst episode of season 5 and 6 combined. What was that even supposed to be? Of course I squee’d over all the cute stuff, but other than that, what on earth was the point of that episode? Oh here, you waited two months here’s an arbitrary reason for going to see a famous person with an eyecatching name so more people watch this?
At least we got a few answers? That everyone already guessed….. I saw it all coming a mile away as soon as I saw “Mels”. And even more cleavage and sexual innuendo, is it really so necessary? I don’t watch this show for sex or UST :(
At least Rory punched out Hitler.
And crazy amounts of Rory/Amy cuteness.
And ROES. And MURFA. And DONNER. Pictures were from s3 and 4 promos, but hey I’m not gonna complain. His face at first when he saw Roes <3
And TARDIS shipping Roes/Doktah.
But…. what the hell.
I’m getting really tired of all the catchphrases. “Fish fingers and custard” would have so much more impact if it was saved and used ONCE near the end, and then it would be all epic and meaningful but it’s just being overused to death. To the point of being really really cheesy.
Uggggh and it just dragged on and on and on.
Sorry guys, I just wasn’t impressed :( I really hope next week is as cool as it looks. :T
You know what? I have to agree with a lot of this. It was funny and sweet and even a bit sad at points, but it felt slightly lacking. Rushed. For example, Melody manages to (sort of) assassinate the Doctor, fall in love with him and become River Song all in one episode.
Without the flaily oneliners and just superb performances from the cast, the episode would have bombed bigtime.
For this episode to have as much impact as I think Moffat wanted it to have, I’d have liked to have seen more of Melody’s past, if I’m honest. And I don’t think we will. He sort of half-assed it in favor of getting to the romance, and that’s fine, but only if you want a half-assed romance, too. And I don’t get the feeling that’s what Moffat has in store for us, especially since River basically went a bit Bad Wolf for him.
Oh, and if the Doctor is actually in love with her already, I don’t even know what. I don’t believe it. Not because I don’t think they couldn’t have an epic romance, but because he barely knows her.
I’ve watched the episode twice now, and while I disagree that this was the worst episode of Moffat’s tenure, I do think it was more of an episode-lite than anything else.
I’M NOT ALONE <3.
I was pretty much this after the episode (and no, I don’t mean it in the good way): I was honestly expecting (HOPING)...
and just sayin, NO TO THE DOCTOR/RIVER. i still believe the only person he could ever love is rose, just sayin ahem....
You know the worst part about Let’s Kill Hitler? IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HITLER.
I just think Moffat stuffed to many things into this episode. Also the name was misleading. If you’re going to have...
^^^THIS. THANK YOU. i mean it had its moments but really, most of it was just really stupid. i hope season 6 part 2 gets...
AGREE WITH THIS , ALL OF THIS, ESPECIALLY THE FIRST PART AMEN.
